The Friends Group has a number of immediate and far ranging goals:
Immediate:
1) Provide funds to the Town of Mashpee for energy saving and "green" materials to be incorporated in the plans for the new Library including photo-voltaic cells which will generate electricity.
2) Create a fund for audiovisual electronics which will make it possible to provide appropriate equipment to do films, magnify a Speakers' voice and do PowerPoint presentations.
On-Going:
1) Our plans are to provide funds to increase the library's book, Music CD, DVD, and audiobook collections as the new Library opens and we have space to display these. The average cost of a hard cover books is $30, CDs are $15, DVDs $20and Books on CD average $80. Your contributions will help expand those parts of the collection.
2) Our plans are to Create an endowment fund that will to support programing in our new 100 seat event room, both for children and adults.
